Once again, Buncom Day was blessed with incredible southern Oregon weather – lots of sun and moderate temperatures.
The Baroness led the parade on the John Deere tractor accompanied by Steve Vincent, the designated grand marshall. Though surprised and stunned at his “good fortune,” Steve nevertheless climbed aboard while holding his foster daughter, Natalie. Out in front of the tractor the patriotic Bob O’Luney’s one man band marched and played. The parade this year was populated by two car clubs in addition to the usual suspects.
While the Lion’s Club had a schedule conflict and couldn’t provide the customary Tri-Tip BBQ, the Buncom Day revelers were instead, treated to a Buncom Day “Luau” provided by Ed Chun and the Sunrise Café. Ed also, generously donated 1/3 of his proceeds to the Buncom Historical Society. Thank you Ed!!
Sue Kupillas and Ken Brandt ran the ever popular and entertaining “Chicken Splat” 50/50 game which also raises funds for the BHS.
